PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE UNITED STATES MARINE CORPS ​​​​​​​7/1991 – 9/2021 • EXECUTIVE-LEVEL HUMAN RESOURCES ADVISOR – MANPOWER AND​ 8/2019 – 9/2021 Reserve Affairs, Headquarters, U.S. Marine Corps, Quantico, Virginia Executive-level advisor and assistant responsible to the Marine Corps’ Chief Executive Officer for Human Resources, Talent Management, Diversity and Inclusion, and Policy Enforcement. Provided clear, balanced, and actionable recommendations on a broad set of topical issues including budgets, personnel policies and programs, employee retention and systems, implementation and integration of diverse personnel assignments, and enterprise-level personnel initiatives, performance evaluations, and promotions throughout the Marine Corps. Assisted with the effective employment of an integrated manpower system across an enterprise of over 250,000 employees with an annual turnover of 30,000 employees. Responsible for successfully attracting, developing, retaining, and supporting team members, their families, and the civilian workforce as they pursue professional aspirations and personal career goals, in order to provide leaders with the manpower resources necessary to accomplish assigned worldwide missions in accordance with U.S. government regulations. • SENIOR-LEVEL PERSONNEL MANAGER AND ADVISOR – U.S. MARINE ​2/2018 – 7/2019 Corps Forces Pacific, Camp Smith, Hawaii Senior-level leader and advisor to the 3-star Commanding General (CEO) as the U.S. Marine Corps Service Component throughout the Asia-Pacific region, consisting of approximately 86,000 personnel located in the United States and throughout the Asia-Pacific region. Managed the development of policies, procedures, analyses, and recommendations relating to organizational objectives and strategies supporting strategic-level military-to-military and U.S. diplomatic efforts. Advised the CEO on vision and initiatives to advance goals and objectives, including proposed U.S. government legislative initiatives, and exercised executive leadership and managerial skill in directing efforts of 17 program directors. • Senior-level Personnel Manager and Human Resources​ –​ 3/2016 – 2/2018 Manpower Management Division, Headquarters, U.S. Marine Corps, Quantico, Virginia Senior-level advisor and talent manager, responsible to the 2-star Director (CEO) of the Marine Corps’ Manpower Management Division. Directly managed the assignment, distribution, appointment, evaluation, promotion, retention, retirement, discharge, separation, awarding, and service records of approximately 250,000 military employees in the United States Marine Corps. Additional responsibilities included mentoring and advising 24 senior- and executive-level managers providing human resources support to over 185,000 employees. • Senior-level Personnel Manager and Advisor – Marine​​ 10/2013 – 3/2016 Corps Installations Pacific, Okinawa, Japan Senior-level advisor and assistant directly involved with establishing and enforcing U.S. government and U.S. Marine Corps policy and supporting and improving the politically sensitive U.S.-Korea-Japan-Okinawa partnership. Directly supervised and managed 6 senior-level managers and small and large teams in six geographically separated locations throughout the Asia-Pacific region. Effectively coached and mentored 19 mid- to senior-level managers supporting over 25,000 customers and employees throughout the Asia-Pacific region, to include Hawaii, Japan, and South Korea.
